Ban Evasion
Spot a banned member returning on a new account
When someone joins, their account is compared with members banned in the last 90 days: the same avatar, a very similar name, and an account created around the time of the ban. No IP addresses, device data or messages are used, because a Discord bot can't and shouldn't see them. A likely match is posted to your staff with a confidence score and the reasons. It only alerts unless you choose an action, so nobody innocent is banned for looking like a stranger.
- Free, like every feature
- Off until you switch it on
- Works in the background once on
Set it up
- Switch on Ban Evasion
Dashboard → your server → Modules → Account Security → Ban Evasion. It starts off, like every feature.
- Open Ban Evasion in the sidebar
Its settings save as you change them and work straight away.
- Alert channel
Choose what suits your server.
- Confidence needed
A match always needs something that ties the two accounts together — a shared avatar or a similar name. A new account on its own is never a match.
- What to do
Alerting is the default on purpose. A false positive punishes someone for resembling a stranger, which is worse than missing an evader — so acting automatically should be a decision you make knowingly.
